Engineering Program Academic/Need-Based Scholarships Support Women in Engineering
> significant scholarships available for students starting in fall 2010 and 2011
The CLIMB scholarship program has been established as a result of a grant from the National Science Foundation. The aim of the CLIMB scholarship is to encourage and support young women who have an interest in majoring in engineering science or engineering management at Sweet Briar College. Scholarship decisions will be based on a student’s academic record, her financial need, as well as her interest in engineering.
Sweet Briar is able to make up to 7 awards each year for students enrolling in 2010 and 2011. The award includes both a $10,000/year scholarship (renewable for each of a student’s 4 years at the College as long as she makes appropriate academic progress in engineering) and travel support to attend a national or regional engineering conference with a program faculty member.
Scholarship application review will begin December 1 and review of applications will continue through March.
Because the CLIMB Scholarship can only be awarded to students who demonstrate financial need, CLIMB scholarship applicants must also submit the Sweet Briar College Early Estimator so that we can determine your eligibility for need-based financial assistance. Please complete and submit this form along with your scholarship application materials.
